The CRAFTSMAN S205 is a 20-inch gas chainsaw designed for property maintenance, firewood cutting, limbing, and other outdoor cutting jobs that require more reach and engine capacity than a smaller saw.
It is powered by a 46cc full-crank 2-cycle engine and uses a 20-inch low-kickback bar and chain. CRAFTSMAN pairs the engine with Easy Pull Start technology to reduce the effort required during starting compared with a conventional pull-start system.
The saw uses a 20-inch guide bar with a low-kickback chain. Lowe’s lists the chain speed at approximately 18 meters per second, with a .325-inch chain pitch and .050-inch gauge for the compatible 78-drive-link chain.
For operator comfort, the S205 includes a full-wrap aluminum handle and five-point anti-vibration system. These components are intended to reduce vibration transmitted to the handles and provide multiple grip positions when cutting from different angles.
An adjustable automatic chain oiler provides lubrication to the bar and chain while the saw is running. The design also includes an inertia-activated chain brake, while tool-free access to the air filter and spark plug makes common maintenance points easier to reach.
The S205 operates on a 50:1 gasoline-to-2-cycle-oil mixture, and 2-cycle engine oil is included with the saw.
