The Husqvarna K 970 Rescue is a professional gas-powered cutter developed specifically for rescue, emergency response, and clearing applications. It combines a high-output two-stroke engine with a 14-inch cutting system and several features designed to make the machine easier to handle in demanding rescue environments.
Its 93.6cc two-stroke engine produces 6.5 HP, providing the power needed to cut a range of construction and structural materials when paired with the appropriate cutting blade. The machine accepts blades up to 14 inches in diameter and provides a maximum cutting depth of approximately 5 inches.
The rescue-specific magnesium blade guard incorporates high-visibility features intended to make the cutter easier to see in smoke and water spray. Husqvarna also uses a specially designed starter handle that provides additional room for heavy gloves, along with an adjustable carrying strap for transport during emergency work.
A digital ignition system is designed to provide reliable starting, while Husqvarna’s anti-vibration system reduces vibration reaching the operator’s hands. The reversible cutting arm also allows the blade to be positioned for cutting closer to walls, floors, and other obstacles.
The K 970 Rescue uses a 1-inch arbor and supports wet cutting for dust control. Husqvarna’s water system allows the operator to regulate water flow to help control airborne dust while limiting excess slurry.
