The DR Power PREMIER 44T is a tow-behind field and brush mower designed for clearing overgrown acreage using an ATV, UTV, or compatible lawn and garden tractor. Its 44-inch cutting deck makes it suitable for areas where ordinary lawn mowers are not designed to operate, including tall grass, heavy weeds, brush, and young saplings.
Power comes from a 10.5 HP Briggs & Stratton Intek OHV engine with approximately 344cc displacement. The single-cylinder engine features electric starting and a cast-iron cylinder sleeve.
The mower uses a 44-inch enclosed cutting deck with two swinging blades. DR Power rates the PREMIER 44T for cutting grass up to approximately 4 feet tall, weeds and brush up to 8 feet tall, and saplings up to 3 inches in diameter.
Its floating deck is suspended from the frame so it can move over changes in terrain and obstacles rather than remaining completely rigid. This helps reduce scalping and protects the cutting system when working across rough ground.
Cutting height is adjustable from approximately 4 to 7.5 inches using two manual hand cranks. This allows the operator to change clearance depending on vegetation and ground conditions without using tools.
The two-piece outrigger tow bar can position the mower directly behind the towing vehicle or offset it to either side. The offset position is useful for mowing closer to fence lines, hedges, field edges, and other areas the tow vehicle itself may not be able to reach.
DR Power states that the PREMIER 44T can clear up to approximately one acre per hour, although actual productivity varies with vegetation density, terrain, towing speed, and site conditions.
