The Toro TimeMaster 21199 is built for homeowners who want to cover more lawn with each pass without moving up to a riding mower. Its wide 30-inch deck gives it considerably more cutting coverage than a typical 21- or 22-inch walk-behind mower while keeping the familiar control and maneuverability of a self-propelled design.
Power comes from a 223cc Briggs & Stratton OHV engine producing 10 ft-lb of gross torque. The mower uses Toro’s Personal Pace system, which responds to the operator’s walking speed rather than requiring a fixed drive setting. Rear-wheel drive helps provide traction while mowing across normal residential terrain.
The 30-inch steel cutting deck uses two blades and Toro’s Dual-Force cutting system. The wider deck helps reduce the number of passes needed on larger lawns, while the twin-blade setup processes clippings for mulching, bagging, or side discharge.
One of the TimeMaster’s most useful features is Spin-Stop blade-stop technology. It allows the operator to stop the blades while leaving the engine running, which is convenient when moving an obstacle, crossing a non-grass surface, or briefly stepping away from the mower.
Cutting height can be adjusted from approximately 1.25 to 4.25 inches in half-inch increments using a two-point adjustment system. Current production versions can travel at up to approximately 5 mph.
The adjustable Quick Stow handle also gives the mower more compact storage options when it is not in use. Combined with its wide deck and automatic self-propel system, the TimeMaster 21199 is well suited for homeowners with larger lawns who still prefer a walk-behind mower.
