DR Power PRO MAX30 30-Inch Wide-Area Self-Propelled Lawn Mower

The DR Power PRO MAX30 is a wide-area walk-behind mower built for homeowners who want to cover more ground than they can with a conventional 21- or 22-inch mower while keeping the control and maneuverability of a walk-behind machine.

Its 30-inch cutting deck is considerably wider than a standard residential mower and uses a dual-blade cutting system. DR Power states that the wider deck can cut up to 43% more grass in a single pass compared with a typical 21-inch mower, helping reduce the number of passes needed on medium and larger lawns.

Power comes from a 224cc DR OHV engine producing approximately 10.6 ft-lb of gross torque. This manual-start version uses a recoil starter and is paired with DR’s FLEX-SPEED™ Drive System, which lets the operator control ground speed through a pressure-sensitive hand lever. Applying more pressure increases speed, while relaxing the lever slows the mower down.

The deck is constructed from cast aluminum, which keeps the mower lighter than many comparable wide-area steel-deck machines while resisting corrosion. DR Power backs the deck with a lifetime warranty.

Cutting height can be adjusted between 1 and 4 inches across eight settings using a one-touch adjustment system. The mower supports mulching, rear bagging, and side discharge, and a mulch plug and approximately 2-bushel grass bag are included.

The ergonomic handlebar adjusts from approximately 36 to 48 inches and folds vertically for easier storage. Large rear wheels help the mower move across residential lawn surfaces while the self-propelled drive reduces the effort required to handle the wider 30-inch deck.
