The DR Power PRO 26 is built for property owners who need more cutting capability than a conventional lawn mower can provide. Instead of being designed for finished turf, this machine is intended for rough areas with tall grass, dense weeds, brush, and young saplings.
Its power comes from a 15.5 HP Briggs & Stratton Intek OHV engine with 500cc displacement. The engine uses full-pressure lubrication with an oil filter, making it better suited to demanding operation and uneven terrain. Electric starting allows the engine to be started from the operator position without relying on a manual pull cord.
The 26-inch pivoting brush deck follows changes in ground contour while cutting through overgrown vegetation. DR Power rates the mower for grass up to 4 feet tall, weeds and brush up to 8 feet tall, and saplings up to approximately 2.5 inches thick.
A single heavy-duty 26-inch blade handles the cutting work beneath the 12-gauge deck. The deck and frame are powder-coated to help protect the steel surfaces during regular outdoor use.
The PRO 26 also includes independent wheel brakes that function as power steering. Squeezing the brake lever on one side allows the mower to pivot around that wheel, reducing the effort required to turn such a substantial walk-behind machine. The same independent brake control can also help maintain direction when working across slopes.
Large 18 x 6.5 x 8-inch lugged tires provide traction on rough ground, while the full-pressure engine lubrication system allows DR Power to rate the machine for mowing on slopes of up to approximately 20 degrees.
For customers who need one machine for several property-maintenance jobs, the PRO 26 is also compatible with DR Power’s optional attachment system.
